We took the train into Lisbon from Sintra, which was incredibly easy. One of the perks of Sintra being at the end of the train line is that you’re guaranteed a seat.
Tacos – Round 2
We made a return visit to the taco restaurant (Duro de Matar) we’d discovered at the Chefs on Fire festival. The restaurant was SO far from everything; far from the train station and pretty much anything else, for that matter.
But the elote corn was still worth the trek. Our favorite tacos were the pork belly carnitas (made from pigs that were fed only pears and apples) and the chicken tinga.
LEGO Exhibition
The LEGO exhibition was a family favorite, with everyone having their own top picks.
- Decklan: Dragon, cruise ship, and lawn mower
- Dad: Rolling Stones, aquarium, and Star Wars
- Mom: Gotham City, Harry Potter, and the portraits
Lord of the Rings and Star War fans would be especially happy here.
They also had stations so you could spend time building and creating with various Lego sizes.

3D Trick Gallery
In the same building as the LEGO exhibition was a 3D trick art gallery. Was it worth the extra few euros? Debatable.
Basically, they have various drawings with unique lighting and shadows to give a 3D effect.

Goan (Indian/Portuguese) Food at Jesus é Goês
Thanks to a recommendation from our friend, Dev, we tried Jesus é Goês, an Indian restaurant in Lisbon. Note: The restaurant has seating for 16 at max capacity.
Our must-try dishes:
- Chickpea puffs
- Holy burger – See picture below – This alone was so unique, worth the trip.
- Meat samosas

The Famous Pastéis de Belém
We have had our fair share of pastel de natas in Lisbon and Sintra. But one is known as Lisbon’s most famous pastel de nata bakery in Belém.
These were the best we’d had, thanks to being served warm with an extra-crispy pastry crust.
You can wait at the historic counter to sit in the café or purchase them to go from the gift shop. We chose the latter, which was much faster.
